Blue glass mirrors

Hello,

Yesterday my 2003 E85 right mirror felt down and broken. I call original used mirrors dealers and I have two options (both heated mirrors, so that's fine):
- one white glass right mirror for 40$ + shipping 5$ - mine left mirror is also white
- two blue glass mirror (left and right) 25$ each + 5$ shipping. - I change both

Are blue mirrors some kind of fotochrome mirrors? It needs some additinal wiring?

Are blue mirrors kind of upgrade from normal white glass mirrors? It feels better?

As above. Blue glass has an extra coating that reduces glare but it is not electrochromatic (EC) so no wiring connection required.

I replaced my leaky EC units with blue glass mirrors and am happy with them :)
