Blooming horn!

Recently I noticed one of my horns not working, so trying to be clever I bought a dual kit (by Fiamm) but for another car.
When it arrived I noticed the connector was slightly different so I couldn't use it. So back to ordering another horn but with the correct adapter.
All good but when I tried to replace it I found the real reason why it stopped, blooming wiring had sheared!

So now it was back to BMW for a repair kit. Thankfully I could borrow the crimp tool from my work so all fixed now.

Moral of the story is to correctly fault find and don't be clever.

I now have 3 spare horns!
 
Also, for future reference, the horn connectors on the FIAMM horns can be removed and replaced. I removed mine and was going to replace it with a Mondeo horn but ended up with a Mini horn instead (plugged straight in).

That's exactly what I thought, but the ones I got were for a Citroen (same fiamm number) but the adaptor was different on the actual horn side so I couldn't use them.

The BMW version one came with two adaptors for different pin sizes.

Maybe I'll post some images up tonight of the two items.
 
[ref]dhobbs[/ref] ah unlucky! I took the connector off my original (just out of interest, as you do) and then found similar horns on eBay but with different connectors to mine. They looked as though they could be swapped over okay and a quick Google seemed to confirm that. Sounds as though you've learned that not to be the case in all cases! And it sounds as though you'll be able to open your own horn shop soon! :D
 
I assume the Z4 has twin horns.
My horn is very low.
Must be only one working.
Where is the best place to buy.
