Bloody hell the discs on this thing are massive?

Ok my previous frame of reference was a Westfield with cortina discs being 9mm deep, grooved and cross drilled for lightness, with relatively small alloy calliper 4 pots, and 9" drums on the rear. However I recon the whole 4 corners of that car were equal to just a front disc on the Z4M.....know wonder it weighs so much!! Staggered :o :o
 
Disagree, I accelerated, gripped and stopped faster and harder in 500kgs of seven, performNce does not need it, it is to counter the weight
 
But the weight is there already, needing higher performance brakes! Don't think they put them on for looks! Although I really do wish they came with 4 pots.
 
I get why they are so big and heavy obviously, but was just astonished when you have them in your hand as to how big and heavy. My other answer was that you do not need weight for performance.
 
As a road car I expect the brakes need to be able to safely handle the energy of a stop from Vmax. 1.5 ton at 160+ mpg is a fair bit of energy although they may have been influenced by what was left in the parts bin ;)

A 500kg track weapon it isn't :)

Maybe you should have bought a Lotus instead? Although not an Evora as it's no lighter than a Z4MC :(
