Blind Spot Detection System - Rear Bumper

I am thinking to install a blind spot detection kit to my Z4. This would be particularly useful as in my case I am sitting on the wrong side for the traffic here. The kit I am looking at uses microwave sensors that you fit behind the rear bumper onto the body of the car. In terms of location, from what I have seen it fixes onto each corner of the car body.

This I think will be a problem because from all the videos I have seen online regarding the bumper removal, I can see there is a large bracket on each side which does not allow for any space for a sensor to be fitted. Below you can see a photo of how the sensor is supposed to be fixed:

My question for anyone who has removed the rear bumper, could you please confirm if there is indeed any space to mount such a sensor to the corner of the car? As an alternative I could install an ultrasonic kit but that would mean drilling the side of the bumper and installing an ugly sensor to it!

Alas my video doesn't show it enough, but these screenshots from another one show a good view.
It really depends how much "on the corner" it needs to be really.

Thanks for the photos Dave, that helps. I guess I need to get the fitting instructions from the factory to see where exactly the sensors need to be. I know apart from the angle they also need to be at least a certain distance off the ground.
