bleeding clutch after cdv swap / removal

is bleeding the clutch easy after cdv delete, heard sometimes you need to turn the slave cylinder upside down to get all the air out, anyone had or heard of this ?

The bleed nipple is next to the cdv

As long as you nip the the hydraulic line with some mole grips to stop all the fluid draining out when you undo it there is no reason to get air in the slave cylinder

I think it's just straight forward

Sam is correct, also do not bother buying another one just modify the one you have.

Daz so you need to put one back at all?

I'm planning on doing this soon when I do my short shifter

When I done my e46 cdv I just removed it all together the fluid lines went back together

there's three options

1: remove, modify, refit
2: remove completely
3: obtain an already modified one, remove existing, fit modified

Only reason to fit an modified one is if you are worried about warranty etc.

Ah ha

As I don't have warranty I'm not fused

I tthought it might be something I had overlooked and perhaps the fluid lines didn't fit together worth out

Thanks for the info

Guys - a quick one - if i talk to HEL lines http://helperformance.com/ and see if they can make the clutch line from slave to master which would totally eliminate this valve and any silly metal work, you reckon people would be interested?

Yeah, as said above. I don't like to see people thinking they must a buy a new one as it really isn't necessary.

I have removed 3 CDV's on Z4's and never had a problem either connecting the lines or bleeding the clutch, as mentioned above a pair of mole grips on the line before you remove the valve will dramatically reduce the amount of bleeding needed.

i went to a braided line to replace the rubber one and know ill never need to think about this part again, i only did it however as my complete braking/clutch system is now braided....

sadly i didnt really feel a huge difference but yeah its out anyway and braided replacement line in....
