I attempted to upgrade my 2003 2.5 firmware using v32.2-1. all I got was the disc kept spinning and a black screen and nothing else.
now after I pop disc out and put map disc in I still have a black screen.
I have a lower version I burned at 1x speed and tried with this and still a black screen. I didn't get anything to actually pop up on the screen both times, just black screen. The radio works fine (Single CD_DSP version).
I have undone the negative terminal to my battery for 25 minutes but still a black screen. It almost seems like it is getting no power although it goes up and down as it should.
I tried searching for answers before posting this but haven't seen anyone with this exact problem. I fear that I might have to go to the stealers for this unless someone here can give me any advice.
Any help would be very much appreciated. I don't want to spend the cash I have been saving for an engine tune-up, on the darned display. I will just keep it closed until I can afford a trip to the stealers. I just feel like a loser because I told myself not to do it and just be happy I have Sat/Nav but the inner nerd in me wanted to have the latest update. Now I have none.
