Bird Strike

Hit a small bird on Sunday
It went straight through the left kidney grill.(no damage)
Anyway the poor headless bird has been inside the front bumper Since Sunday.
don't know where it's head went.
The question is do the grills pop out easy enough as I can't see any other way of getting it out.
Anybody got any ideas.
Cheers Paul .

Leave it - the maggots will sort it for you...then just fly away!!!!!!

Ha ha it's got a skeleton it's a bird not a slug.
And you can see it through the lower grill.
so no I can't leave it cause I'll need to give it a proper funeral.

Ummm....must be possible to get in there. Is there a how-to on changing the grills that would say how to get them out?

Just remove the cover at the front of the engine bay which directs air to the air filter (4 x bolts), which will give you access behind the kidney grills and inside the bumper.

The last time I had a bird strike I was on two wheels doing the wrong side of 120mph in France, a very painful experience.

It's on another forum but it might be what you're looking for:

It refers to the F30 but the principles look the same.

It's not easy getting the grills out, depends if the clips are working in your favour or not....

Stark,

ksher's 'DIY - Removing OEM Chrome/Fitting Black High Gloss Grilles' might help - it did for me when changing my grilles.

All sorted 4 bolts 5 minutes rubber glove
Got in after removing air intake cover at
Front of engine bay.
