OK, Woot, finally I have roasted the run flats (rears to the bars and the fronts are close)

What is the collectives view on NON RF's for the Z4.

Aslo the best places in the states to order or install.

Westcoast So Cal.

Mark, You have the staggered set up correct? 18's ?

I'm looking for some new shoes as well, 18's. I have one extra criteria though. I want a national place for replacements if required and easy accessible in stock. I also want tires that will last more than 10k.

For me that rules out Goodyear F1's, fronts available the rears are not.

I have a price of $768 for Dunlop Direzza DZ101. ( for $100 for all four total you can get full replacement road hazard, not prorated )

I have a price of $1074 for Pilot Sports. ( encludes road hazard, however prorated)

Prices above enclude mount, palance and disposal.

I have not priced them at Costco or Tirerack yet, to have the others to do a price match.

That is where I'm at, hope it helps.

Thanks BoB,

I can afford? to look locally in SO Cal.

Tire rack is a good place and I will have to check into the Offsets.

Ya 17' rims is what I have.

From Tire rack for 18". 17" are about the same price.

Way to do some research, Damn! Let me which way you go and your thoughts. I'm looking for something that will get me through the rain on my way to HC. Hell, I may need a boat!! :?

I would invest in a Flatbed service to get your car to the HC.

Running across the Plains is Evil... no turns

Plan is I drive first day, Robyn drives second day, then it is all me. Dragon here we come!!!!! I want to get the new shoes broke in first. :D

Who's Woot?

When I ditch my runflats (eventually), I'll probably go with either the Goodyear F1's or the Kumho Advan Neovas.

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=woot

1. woot 1980 up, 324 down

Woot originated as a hacker term for root (or administrative) access to a computer. However, with the term as coincides with the gamer term, "w00t".

"w00t" was originally an trunicated expression common among players of Dungeons and Dragons tabletop role-playing game for "Wow, loot!" Thus the term passed into the net-culture where it thrived in video game communities and lost its original meaning and is used simply as a term of excitement.

"I defeated the dark sorcerer! Woot!"

"woot! i r teh flagmastar!" (Think Tribes)

"Woot, I pwnzed this dude's boxen!'

Anyone running these.

Well rated and good price to performance

DrakeZZ,

I've done the change from RFT to normal and my first try was the Bridgestone REO050A Pole Postition. They were a small improvement but still not great. It's one of the most highly rated tires on Tire Rack's review/rating page but I would not buy them for a Zed if I were you.

The PS2 Michelin's seem to be the hot tip with Goodyear F1's close behind. Don't overlook Kumho, I think Vroomer is real happy with his.

I recently purchased a set of used !9" wheels that had Falken 452's mounted and I'm real pleased with them even though they don't get much notice. They were a big improvement over the Bridgestones.

Hi guys...

was wondering what would be your choice for an all-season tires that can handle snow well during winter

Also, what does High Performance and Ultra High Performance mean?

Lastly, when I order from tirerack.com, does it mean that they have already given me the correct size of the wheel and tires?

thanks so much... and sorry for hijacking the thread

I think you'll find that you will get more flack from this crowd for apologizing than for hijacking. Don't be sorry. :punish:

First Welcome To The Forum...
I really consider all-seasons a bad compromise on a Zed. I know a few have done that but far better to run a good summer high performance tire like PS2's or F1's and then for 3 or 4 months switch to a dedicated high performance winter tire.

As far as the tire size if you input the correct information into Tire Rack you should be getting the correct size replacement but I would check the actual size(s) on your Zed and compare. Front and rear tire sizes may not be the same on your Zed depending upon option. Hope this helps... :)

Mark,

This is hear say ( for Zednick benefit ) that the BFGoodrich g-Force Sport, has very soft sidewalls is it appears to be and issue in the twisties. This is what I saw on one of the tire forums anyway.

WLH:

Thanks so much for the advice but I think having a dedicated wnter tires is a huge investment on my part... plus, i don't have the space for it. now, only my front 2 tires needs changing.

Would it be wise to change the front pair only or change all 4 tires together?

Does anyone use any simpler solution to overcome wintery roads as well as summer roads. Any specific brand of tires that can be used comfortably all year long, with minimum compromises?

You should take a look at this video...
