Bimmer Spinners help

Hey guys, remember Bimmer Spinners? Those emblems that replaced the stock ones and always stayed upright when you moved? Well one of mine broke off and I was looking for the site to reorder just one and I can't find the site. Anyone have a good email for the guy that made those or know of a source for just one so I can fix my set?

Thanks!

I don't. Chances are that if someone knew they would of replied by now. Not to say that anyone won't reply, but the superbly knowledable people do check the boards quite often....

I didn't know about them, anyhow the two websites that were selling them seems to have closed.

I suppose they should look as these ones

Yes, same deal as the Porsche ones, but much, much cheaper. I know the company is now gone, but I thought the creator of these things checked these types of sites or someone else here still had his email.

Back on z4um.com I think we had those links.

Oh well. Hey are the mods of this forum still checking their emails? I lost the email to activate my old z4um name (XtraSmiley) so I had to go with the 1 on the end, but I'd like to get it back to normal!

Thanks for the help guys (gals). I really need that 4th cover though...

How do they work? Are they just sitting on bearings and have the bottom half heavier than the top?

Two parts, the one that goes into the wheel itself and the top part which is the BMW logo (the part that someone broke off mine I think). the logo is attached through the center with a rod to a weight on the inside that always pulls down.

Sounds cheap, but the effect is awesome and people have comment to me about them just as much as the car. I think they were a great idea, but BMW probably put the business out more than anything else.

Sounds interesting, but wouldn't it get dirty an therefore not be able to roll independantly of the wheel after a while?

Well, mine never had or have a problem turning. I have them on 108s and the original BMW super dusty brake pads and the remaining 3 work great. I was very happy with them, but I really think the fourth one got ripped off.

XtraSmiley1, welcome to the forum...

I have seen the spinners you are talking about on an M3 a few years ago. I have no idea where you can get them or if it is even possible. I have never seen them on a Z4.

Concerning your request to change your user name from XtraSmiley1, to XtraSmiley. While mod's can make that change I am reluctant to do so considering you have a membership pending under XtraSmiley and I don't have access at that level to cancel it. If you have not already done so send the site owner/admin a PM and I sure he can help you. Site owner/admin is sp3ctre.

Thanks a ton WLH for the welcome. Back in the day on Z4um.com a couple of us got them, as well as other mods I haven't really seen on here yet, but since that site seems to be long gone, I think I've found a new home here.

I'm moving to GA this week, but that puts me close to where the Zs are made, so maybe on my next one, I'll be able to pick it up in person and drive the test track.

I also have a part that allows owners of the '03-'04 Z4s to open and close their tops with the key alone. I never installed it, and now I am ready to trade in so when I get settled in in a month or so in my new home, I'll post it for sale here first.

I remember them.

And I remember distinctly that the creators got sued and were forced to close down their site forever.
