Bilstein B4s with M sport springs?

So ive been dizzying myself researching suspension as I need 2 front dampers.

Seems bilsteins come highly recommended ... their official line is use b4s and b6s for cars with standard suspension and use b8s for M sport.

What I want to know is - has anybody here used B4s with M Sport springs and how did they fare? I don't really want to spend £200 each on B8s

Would b4s be softer than the M sport dampers I have just now? I just want a direct equivalent

Not sure b4s would be usable with the M sport springs. Id say b8's as my E36 328 had the M sport suspension and had the uprated shocks which were the equivalent to the b8 shocks. Could maybe use the b6 shocks. Look on the bilsten website.

B8s new for just under £325 delivered:

i have m sport suspension and needed rears replacing after a pot hole incident :headbang: and i used Bilstein B4s and have no issues what so ever  direct replacement.... no idea on the fronts however.....

Thanks for that :)

Hi,

Just to chuck another name in the ring, don't forget about Koni's - The Sports are O.K to use with up to -30mm from stock ride height, and they are adjustable 8)

About £150-160 each.

i heard lots of good things about the Koni's when i was researching, just a shame there so expensive over here (there cheaper than stock replacements in the states etc)

I don't know what you paid for the B4's - but just checking on Larkspeed, Koni sports are £147 each fronts & £124 each rears.

from memory i think i paid £110 for the pair of B4s so the konis were more than double at £248 :/

I'll also have to consider konis , I read they are adjustable.

If I could improve the standard ride quality and keep the sharp handling that would be ideal
