Beware of Air fresheners that go on your vents

I put one of those Glade air fresheners that attach to your vent. Unknown to me the chemical inside is extremely harsh and when it leaked on to my gear shift surround it instantly ate the paint. I had black spots all around the shifter. I did manage to hide it by using of all things a metallic sharpie for the base and a gray sharpie to blend it. Eventually I need to take the piece out and repaint it. So learn from my mistake buy those cheap trees that hang from your mirror it is a much better way to keep your car smelling good.

Here is the POS to avoid

Thanks for the tip JetBlackZ, one of the things I've always reveled on is how good Maguire's leather cleaner/treatment smells. It's not a new car smell yet it is so pleasant without being over-powering. And, it lingers like you have a smell-good freshener in the car. I hope nothing's permanatly stained in your car :(

All of these plug-in air fresheners are the same.

I won't have them in the house or the car after I knocked one over on the top of the fridge accidentally and, ten minutes later, found the paint stripped down to bare metal. And you're breathing in an atomised aerosol of this shite FFS???

No for me.

Mind you, I hate that stupid green tree thing even more LOL!

I use a fragrance called 2 wet Labradors, the older one also adds the odd fart.

:tumbleweed:

Me too....

Sometimes I alternate with " just rolled in a fresh one ".

I don't even buy the pine trees, a spray once in a while and all is good.

Why do they do that? Fox poo is the worst!!

We take the odd boarding dog and this week we had, with our own dogs, a total of five labs, two miniature long-haired dachsunds and a stroppy Jack Russell.....boy the house smelt sweet after a couple of hours out in the rain...but funnily enough all that dog energy seems to have some kind of soporiphic effect...weird!
