Best Wax Applicator ?

What does everyone use to apply wax ? I have used a dodo juice applicator that goes over 2 or 3 fingers, a round Megs foam applicator pad that sucked up way to much wax, and my fingers (which was a very enjoyable experience but took aaaaaages). Is there any product that is better than any of these ?

Note - I don't have a machine polisher that I could use... Though I'd appreciate knowing if they are any good for putting wax on, do you get a better finish etc.

I use this, which is probably what you've used;

Its foam not MF so it doesn't soak a lot up when I use it, easy to use, doesn't scratch... cheapish.. But then I don't put much wax on it either, the wax/sealant I use is proper tiny amount stuff...

That's the one. It gives the smoothest application, but I wonder if wax should be applied in small circles or the larger ones this gives ?

How long would you guys allocate to apply, cure and buff off wax for your entire car?

EDIT: Sorry for the threadjack.

About an hour for a coat I reckon. Purple Haze Pro only needs left to cure for 10mins, so do a panel, do another one, then go back to the first and buff off, then do another panel, go back to the second one you did to buff off, and so on.

It can depend on temperature and type of wax/sealant. It takes me around 40 minutes to apply the sealant I use, about 10-20 minutes to cure and buffing takes around half an hour. Add another 30-40 minutes to that to snow foam and wash first. Or several hours more if you're going to polish the car with a DA/rotary first.

I wax by machine with a chemical guys hexlogic pad

Its quicker and you can apply the wax thinner and nore evenly

Thanks guys. The weather is looking OKish for Saturday, so just wanted a rough idea so I know if I'll have enough time to bother attempting.

I have the foam applicators, so will be able to usefully contribute to this thread next week.
