hi

im looking to clean the small bolts on the split rim 108 style, mine have gone black and have started to drip/run smear the the silver star centre peice

what do you use to clean the bolts?

Wheel cleaner, and an old toothbrush. Hold it with your thumb on the back, bristles facing down, and brush the bolts back and forth from the outside of the wheel towards the inside, so at right angles to the wheel if that makes sense. The bristles get nicely into the centre of the bolt and down the sides.

My neighbours think I am a nutter, especially when I blow in each bolt to get the water out when drying the wheels

Hi- I had the same problems- had a lot of useful advice under "How do you clean yours? in the wheels and tyre section.

I find a bit of wheel cleaner spray works well with said toothbrush in the post above.

Best to seal up the wheel with wax after that, as wheel cleaner often takes any existing protection off the surrounding paint

Iron-X should do the trick.

Btw, lots of posts on detailingworld about this product.
