Best Clay?

Hello you lovely lot :D

Well the week is dragging by (as predicted!) until I pick up my ruby black M Roadster on Saturday afternoon (pics will follow once I have her in my paws  ) and in the interim have been dutifully stocking up on products to look after my new beauty. Having taken a look at Opieoils.co.uk and other posts within the forum, I'd like to know if any of you have used Bilt Hamber Auto clay and would recommend it? I feel a little in the dark on this one....thanks guys xx

Went for Meguiars on my friend (mechanics) recommendation. Have used it before and it is good but not the best value. Im sure as above there are various good ones available...

I use Auto Glym, and it's easy to get, from Halfords.....and the results afterwards are amazing. Just set yourself a couple of panels evey day and you'll be done in a week!

Meguiars also for me, it's not to aggressive so ideal for beginners so reduce possibility of doing any damage and so you may have to take a bit more time on bad areas, particularly the front bumper and lower wings

Just out of curiosity (sorry I dont mean to thread jack) but does anyone know how many uses 50g of clay would normally survive? I know the packs say 3-4 but I never trust them..

Not sure how big 50g is, but I got 2 bars with mine, about credit card size, .5mm thick. I get about 4 goes out of each bar, as I break it off into manageable chunks.

Check the detailing section, bound to be the answer in there...

I use Chemical guys clay from Carwashandwax.

Bilt Hambler. ....you use water as the lubricant, no need for expensive detailing fluid, and works a treat. Plus you get more clay than the other kits supply.

+1 for Bilt Hambler and water. Does a very good job IMHO. It's easy to use and longer lasting than most kits.

Thanks chaps, really appreciate the help :D what a lovely compliment for Nick too. Some sweet looking wheels ups here. And "thread jack" love it!!

The next two days are going to drag,,,,, cheers again xx
