Best Alternative HC hotels

Greg, I guess like others I have already made reservations for the Embassy Suite for HC 08 which if there is a better alternative I would cancel. Since I have not been to HC before what is the issue with Embassy? If there is a good alternative I plan to be in the area in April and I could check it out.
Rates are high.
No wifi unless you wanna pay $10/day.
If I go solo, a suite is way too much room for me.
I don't drink alcohol so driving at anytime of the day/night is no issue for me.
I believe I can get a much better rate for what I need,
No special amenities that appeal to me.
btw what is the BMW rate at the ES?

It is over $100 per day as I recall. I'm really not sure. I switched to a new computer a few weeks ago and have switched from Windows to Linux and I did not save my confirmation e-mail since I have the confirmation number recorded. Well if anyone has a suggestion please post and in any event I will do some checking around when I am in the area this April...20ducks said:

There were rates that were comparable to the Embassy. If this is truly the last one (HC) it would be nice to be together as a group. When it and if it does go regionally we might not get to see some of our old friends again, judging on where future locations and regions are.

I have reservations at ES. 2008 Homecoming rate is $119
Yes, wired internet is $10 per day in your room, wireless is available in the lobby but I don't know if they charge for it. I like ES for the convenience.
BTW, the Crowne Plaza is only 1/2 mile away from ES, right by highway 385
