After Lewis Hamiton crashed, he said "A bit unfortunate for the team – we were in a good position and as far as I was concerned I was ahead of whoever it was I was racing and then I just got hit by them and that was my race over. That's motor racing. There has been a lot of races where we haven't finished this year, so that's just another one of them."

"I think we were struggling. For whatever reason we were massively slow on the straight, massively, massively slow and I guess that's really what got us in the position really."

But Jenson Button was able to finish 3rd from starting from 13th on the grid. Another excuse. :thumbsdown:
 
As I have said before - Lewis is a huge talent but needs to add a bit of thought to his obvious raw speed.

1/2 of racing technique is about positioning and judging the risk/reward of an overtaking move. Thats why Button is the more complete driver.
 
Have to agree on the Lewis comments. He doesn't seem to always be as aware as Jenson, when he's in busy situations. The speed has always been there, but he just seems to miss crucial little things around him.
 
Depends on the set up, both drivers have differing driving styles and thus setup, however compared to the works mercedes which were so fast up the hill, JB's did indeed seem faster.

I think Eddie is right, he is driving so well during the race, and exciting to watch, just needs to get his Saturday's right, we could do with Seb having a few DNF, well 4 of them at least :)

Don't forget that Jenson has been in F1 7 years longer than Lewis - that's a lot more experience to call on than talent.

Lewis needs to grow up a bit.He's behaved like a spoilt brat all season.He's had loads of accidents but none of them have been his fault ( according to him),and ALL were avoidable. He needs to show some maturity like Jenson did,he cannot win the title again until he reduces his arrogance levels a bit.

He accepted full responsibility for this weekends prang and apologised to KK and the team.
 
Strange really, but I think it's generally agreed that Jenson is just about the smoothest driver out there, yet when he's got the bit between his teeth he has to be rated as the best overtaker in F1 - and by some margin too :driving:

Jake and co were stating on the post race F1 forum, that Jenson has more overtakes this season then anyone else, the interesting part is that during these overtakes he hasn't stuffed the other guy into a wall doing it.
 
er, if he was at the front he would not do any overtaking, if he overtakes that much it tells me he is always behind :?

Good point, Taz x, As Sars said, he needs to do more on the saturday :thumbsdown:
