Before I jump on the CSL bandwagon...

Really fancy 19" CSLs in the long term, but I'm considering getting my MV2s refurbed in a different finish. I like them - probably more than most people on here, but fancy a bit of a change (and they need a refurb anyway).

This is standard:

Roughly what they look like when dirty (i.e. better!:

Possibly what they'll look like in hyper black (or similar):

Thoughts? :?

Don't want to go completely black as I like the multi-spoke look. Black will look a little too aggressive without a few other visual mods to balance things out (by which point I will have probably slipped into into full-on Pimp Mode).

Appreciate that a move to 19", especially if accompanied by more aggressive offsets and lowering springs, would be a serious leap forward in terms of how planted the car looks, but I'm not quite ready to ditch my original rims + nearly new Sessantas just yet.

Cheers!

Hi, I've got 19" CSL on my car but also like the MV2 wheels.

To me hyper black, grey etc always look "dirty". I prefer a nice bright silver such as Hyper silver got that nice clean shiny look 8)

Well this is the thing - whenever they're clean I go off them and then when they haven't been washed for a while they start to look cool again. All a matter of personal preference, I guess.

Alan - you must be a dad. That is an extremely sensible dad answer. :-) Think I agree though!

Could always buy these and swap tyres and flog yours- if the price stays low you may make a profit to put towards csls in the future.

MrPT....understand your considering a change....I dumped my 108's when I bought the car and love my MSV2's....though am considering a change to CSL 19" all round though would love to hear from anyone who has gone from the standard 18" staggered to a 'same as' 19" all round as to if the handling of the car changed for the worse?

In terms of colour choice on my silver a matching clean silver msv2 looks I think quite elegant and classy, but on a grey model a darker colour looks good, not too dark though.

I've never been to an indoor lido before but hey it's good to be sure! :D

lol, good spot.

Some fun roads around Woburn, incidentally. :)

Dropped into FA Wheels today and of course they just happen to have a finished set of MV2s in light anthracite, ready to go!

I reckon this is the right colour. Oh how they tease me.

Not sure if they do shadow chrome as a powder coat. I'll check. Not too keen on any chromed finish though - was actually after an Audi-esque satin grey until I found out how much of a ballache it would be to keep pristine.

Right, last picture of Woburn Lido, I promise. This is what the light anthracite's will probably look like.

That looks pretty sweet, to my eyes. It's between this and a piano black dash (similar price) for the 1 year ownership milestone celebratory splurge. :bday:

Did something I rarely do, which is exercise some self-restraint. My MOT was due and I actually managed to wait until the car passed to get the wheels done. Admittedly I did drive rather hastily, directly from the test centre to FA Wheels.

Rear springs haven't settled yet (and the car is filthy), but I'm really happy with that! Black grilles next and then I think I'm done until next summer. :)
