Ok, i have collected these wheels and they are very nice, but maybe a little too shiney? they have a massive stepped rim that is mirror polished, I find it a little too 'blingy', so my question is do i flat down the rim and destroy the shiney finish then re- lacquer them, if so any ideas on how? i am thinking wet and dry around 600 grit or maybe using my dremel? :?

Yep. just too 'gypsy caravan' for me lol. they look almost chrome. I want them to have a more 'brushed' alloy finish.

I would suggest using a mobile wheel refurbisher if you want to get a finish that would last and not look odd.

Guess that could be costly so you could just sell them on and get a set you like...

If its polished by sanding it you run the risk of letting water in lifting the lacquer off which will ruin them.

Personally i would take them to a wheel shop... Cant be more then £30 each to paint the lip only.

Thanks fellas. i think i will try sanding them back the re lacquer them to seal the alloy from the elements. Other than the super shiney finish i love the look of the wheels. i guess if it all goes wrong i can always get them professionally sorted.
Wish me luck I am going in....
