For anyone interested, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Lancaster will be returning to Hawarden Chester airport for the first time since it was made there 80 years ago in 1945. With it will be a Spitfire and a Hurricane and they will be joined by the Airbus Beluga XL, all dependent on the weather of course.
Below is more info from Chocks Away Diner, which is on site and open to the public and is a popular destination for quite a few car and motorcycle groups. Location is Aviation Park, Flint Road, Saltney Ferry, Chester CH4 0GZ
Friday 30th May - The Lancaster, Spitfire & hurricane as well as the Beluga XL will be coming to Hawarden (weather dependant as always) at around 5pm.
The Spitfire & Hurricane will be located and parked by Chocks Away whilst the Lancaster will be based at airbus & will be bought over later on in the evening too us.
Saturday 31st May , they will all be departing around midday.
I know this post is slightly vague with timings and accuracy, but this is the best we can do. As soon as we know more, we will let you know.
We will be open till 8pm (last food orders at 730)
We will be running a reduced menu 430-730, this will be posted closer to the dates.
All table bookings will be turned around and each have 1.5 hours on the tables before next booking.
You can see from most tables out of the window , please be aware the main window tables are booked out fairly and go fast so we can’t also guarantee, but the outdoor area is huge with plenty of space and outside tables are first come first served. You will all be able to see
Please be aware we may get very busy. When coming to the diner you will have to sign in at security (please park in the left hand lane) get out of your car and leave your name and car reg and they will direct you to us. There is a strict 15mph speed limit on site which must be stuck too as we have children on site and active running businesses.
Bookings over the phone on 01244 539205
Or via messenger and email (please be aware we are very busy with bookings, therefore replies maybe slow as we are doing this during service)
Thank you as always,
Chocks Away
