Bank Holiday anticlimax

All set for some bank holiday e86 after it having spent 2 weeks having lots of preventative maintenance , un sorn it this morning and managed 2 miles from home when I get a loud bang and thump from under the engine whilst briskly building up some speed..........so slows down to about 20 mph to hear a grinding sound from under the car.......pulls over , leans out of door and looks under car to see some kinda inspection flap having down onto the road..........limps back home......fun over before it began
Awaiting a pair of ramps from friend to see what's happened.....fixing screw fell out of sump plug cover???? :thumbsdown:

It’s just the plastic cover that reveals the sump plug as you say. It’s held in on one side by a Philips screw.

Jack the car one side, put something substantial under it for safety and reach under and screw it back up or remove it temporarily.
