Badge has confused me

Bit of a mystery. Perhaps you can help solve it.
Recently became an owner of the Z4 coupe.

Purchase order that came with the cars paperwork, printed in 2008 , containing all the spec details, vin, reg etc says;
Model: E86 Z4 3.0SI Sport Coupe N52 3.0

Service book, hand written says;
Z4 3.0i SPT Coupe

Owners handbook; For Vehicles:
Z4 2.0i
Z4 2.5i
Z4 2.5Si
Z4 3.0Si

Bimmerworks VIM lookup confirms spec on purchase order plus spec I can see with my own eyes, calls it;
Z4 3.0si

So, all details supplied support that its a 3.0SI

But I just noticed the badges on the sides near the indicators.

3.0 IS

wtf. 3.0IS doesnt exist, right?

The thought just occured to me, the wings might have been resprayed and whoever rebadged the car put them the wrong way round?

Thoughts please.....

I think you are right about the badges being put back in the wrong order!

Facelift E85/86 models were all 3.0Si.

What may have caused confusion is that there was an E89 30is!
