Backbox delete... and next?

Hi,

I removed the backbox with straight pipes, but i want to make more louder. What is the next step? i think removing the 2nd cats, right? or buy a headers?

Another question: what is the best way to remove backbox without losing HP?

This. In removing the back box, people have reported loosing power, not gaining. If you want a decent sound and a bit (and I mean tiny bit) more power then a full aftermarket exhaust system is the way to go but these cost £££££

Yes, an aftermarket exhaust is very expensive and doesn't remove the secondary cats, only modify the catback.

You could try adding cherry bombs as your rear silencer, they deepen the noise, and wont loose power as they still hold back pressure, but are free flowing.

Its loud enough with silencer delete I don't know why u would want louder the car quite refined so noise dimmed abit its not until the roof is down in mine its shock some how loud it is. Other car users must just think idiot as I drive past on half throttle

I just took the Zed to a local muffler shop and got the rear muffler cut out and replaced with 2 bullet style sport mufflers. Sounds ok to me and not expensive. Got flanges welded onto the ends of the pipes so I can bolt the original muffler back on if I ever want to.
I like the sound a lot more than the stock, which I always thought was a bit anaemic for the car.
You could spend more money and get brand name versions of the same - they might be better 'tuned' for a nicer sound, but I wouldn't know.

Yeah, sorry, you can't just buy what's in the pic and bolt it on.

Had this built today. Didn't want an entire back box delete as was worried about drone. There is still a tad bit of drone even with this at certain RPM. May enquire about a larger muffler, this is pretty small and I believe this is a straight through glasspack. May check if they have something baffled?

Didn't cost a huge amount, and sounds awesome when pushing on over 3.5/4k revs.
