Hi guys,

I've been away for a while (can't even remember when was the last time that I posted here). Lots of business trips, tight schedule and long hours in the office meant that I was unable to keep up with the forum.

It doesn't mean though that I have abandoned my Z. In fact, in the meanwhile it has been fitted with CLS wheels and looks better than ever.

It has also been through many miles of B-roads and long trips over the last few months, being my trustworthy companion on all my weekend trips around England and Europe. I have been away from track days since last October, but I eagerly await this April to get my car where it belongs. Not before I go for a two-weeks long driving holiday in Europe with stops in Denmark, the Czech Republic, Italy and France. :D

BTW, I always heard people saying that the standard Conti SC2 that came with the car were rubbish and although I always realized that they were a bit hard, low on grip and not optimal, I didn't think they were that bad. That until I got my car fitted with a set of Michelin PS2. The levels of grip and roadholding are a lot higher and it inspires a lot more confidence. You can really lean on the grip, the slides with the back are a lot more controllable and overall it allows you to go through corners with a lot more speed and confidence. Great stuff.

I also never disliked the looks of the standard rims. I do like the CSLs, but the main reason why I got rid of the other ones was their quality. I had an incident in which I kerbed one of the wheels. It was a small contact with a kerb getting out of a car park, but even though the lacquer in the wheel cracked for about 4~5 cm arches and just fell off, revealing another shiny layer underneath a thick layer of paint. The base wheel wasn't sanded or primed for the upper coat of paint and lacquer. I could have refurbished the wheel, but it would look odd because the layer of paint and lacquer that broke was about 5mm thick and also the next time it happened it would be like that again. That's why I decided to go for the CSLs. So far I haven't kerbed or damaged them in any way :) but if I ever do I hope they will be better quality.

Welcome back tehdarkstar, I haven't forgotten about you  . Excellent choice in wheels, Z's lookin' good  . And don't worry about the ugly day, your car makes it a gorgeous day!
