B12 or coilovers

If your going to do regular track days then adjustable dampers are a considerable benefit, the ability to tune the handling to the track and conditions is a great help in getting the car to handle the way you like it.

On the road though, the constantly variable surfaces and conditions, and different weights in the car of passenger or not, half or full fuel, stuff in the boot etc is going to preclude a finely balanced setup unless your going to adjust it for each trip , so your going to end up with a setting that seems to cover most eventualities.

Billstein have a great wealth of knowledge in what's needed for your average driver on the every day roads, so I would consider their setting as more than good enough for every day use, and probably as good or better than we would come up with anyway.

Thanks I think you have convinced to go B12. I was only really considering coilovers for a road car if in their softer settings they made the car more comfortable the the B12 Kit without making the car feel too "wallowy" or not very "planted" etc

IMO (and experience) B12 will improve handling, but do not look for comfort levels better than stock - with the lowering effect and shorter shocks (the B8s) the ride is definitely "sporty" and some potholes can be jarring. If comfort is your main concern, you may want to look at a B6 with standard springs setup - the B6 is longer than the B8, and still a markup from the standard shocks (IIRC these are Sachs).
