Awaiting my Z4 Coupe...

Hi all,

Getting my first Z4 next week - a 2007 3.0si Coupe in Silver Grey with premium pack and pretty much every option bar satnav. Only got 16k miles on the clock too. Can't wait! I currently have a 2007 Golf GTI and had no intention of changing my car... until... I went into a local dealer with my father-in-law to help him choose a new car and there it was - the car I've been lusting after since it came out and at a price I could actually afford!! One test drive (and the usual painful haggling with the dealer AND the wife) later and the deal was done. Will be a bit of a change from a 5 door hatch (albeit a hot one) but it'll be even better I'm sure....

Here is a picture, not the best quality I know - its just the picture published by the dealer for the sale - so will get some better pics up once I've taken delivery and managed to pull myself away from driving it!

Thats all really - just very excited and needed to tell lots of people!!

Nice one mate, and IDENTICAL to the one that I`m picking up tomorrow !

A week ago I was the same as you; wishing the time away, but it DOES pass (obviously  ), and this time next week, you`ll have less than 24 hours to wait same as me.

Enjoyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy !!!!!!!!! 8)

Thanks for the welcome folks!

One thing I meant to ask - anyone know how many RHD Z4C's were built? I read somewhere that there were only 17,000 odd built but that was both LHD and RHD. One of the reasons I like the coupé is because there are fewer of them about....

Can't help with the figures - but you're definately joing the more exclusive section of the forum :)
From forum meets the ratio seems to be about 1:8 - but on the roads spotting a coupe feels much rarer.
Maybe the roadster drivers are too busy getting their hair done to come to the fourm meets? :poke:
Good choice

UK figures according to BMW:

BMW Z4 3.0si Coupe (manual) = 1598
BMW Z4 3.0si Coupe (Automatic) = 1998
BMW Z4M Coupes = 578

For comparison, I think they built 536 UK RHD M3 CSLs

Hi welcome to the forum. Looks great
Gonna be a long wait though! I had to wait a few days for mine and I just wanted to go to sleep for 3 days and wake up when it was time to get it!

Welcome!

Took what seemed like forever for me to get mine. Long enough that other half bought me one of these to stop my whining:

which eventually lead me to do this:

Pity the cats had gobbed all over the window first.

more automatics than manual???? that does suprise me

The one I'm waiting on is an automatic. Have to say I was a bit sceptical but I do a lot of city driving in Glasgow so decided (after the test drive) that I actually quite liked it and would make it easier in the city. Still got the paddles to have some fun! Hope I don't regret it!!!

 oh that never gets old :poke:. Not up north of the Border they're not - not a single Coupe on the Skye 2-day trip last month... Although perhaps CoupeChief can change that in future

Welcome to the forum, keep an eye in the meets section if you're keen to partake in some Z4 Scottish meets.

Well troops, had the car a week now and it's brilliant. Been making all sorts of excuses to get out in it. Unfortunately the weather in the evenings has been pretty wet lately so haven't had the chance to really give it some gas!

Couple of problems - I've got warped brake disks, however the dealer is replacing these on Wednesday. The other is that the car was sold to me as having isofix and passenger airbag deactivation option but they are not there. All I have for proof of this is the autotrader advert so does anyone think I can use this to get the dealer to fit free of charge?

I know Z4 not exactly a family car but I do regularly drop off and pick up my daughter from nursery in my car so this is a major issue for me if I can't get a child seat in.....

If you need any further excuse to drive it, check out Pistonheads - there's a run this Sunday morning starting from Livingston. There's a few Z4 owners going along :)

Hi and welcome to the forum.
hope u get the isofix issue sorted/tho ,if not, thats a good excuse to take your wife/g'fs car to pickup your daughter, lol :)

An update - brakes fixed. New discs, pads and sensors all round and now stops in a flash without the dreaded judder!!

Isofix/airbag deactivation - no retrofit available for my car. Not sure where we go from here......
