Avin Android Head Unit retains all Factory Sat Nav Functions

I can confirm after fitting one that the Avin Android 11 Head Unit for X3 retains all Z4 Factory Sat Nav Functions.

Avin offers an ordering option to support the 6.5 inch VGA screen on the Z4 (unit comes with additional cable installed). It works a treat.

'Car Display' option shows VGA image from Sat/Nav head unit

All functions including DSP and CD Changer are operable and configurable in this view. The unit even knows when you have DSP enabled and disables its own DSP settings

Sounds interesting!

Do you have a link to the exact unit please? Their website is a bit confusing with hundreds of options.

See this post on installation - it requires some mods to fit the unit on the Z4 dash - but all the connections are plug 'n' play

and here's the Avin link - you must select the existing 6.5 or 8.5 inch display option if you have factory sat nav and only the 1280 resolution screen option will work (which is made clear on the ordering instructions).

The unit is currently discounted:

PS: also buy the Aux connector if you don't have one (you need it). Also see my other post on modifying the AUX connector to get the best sound (cut the plugs off and directly solder it).

And choose the Android 11 option. Wireless car play is really cool!

Any pics of the avin showing original screen info
Will post this weekend - Don't you believe me :-). It has an analog VGA in connector exactly the same as original screen. This is not rocket science.
