Hi all , been under the car today as i was going to change the track rod end bushes, as it booked in for wheel alignment due to me fitting eibach springs ( yes both rears broken ), i noticed that the auxiliary drive belt is cracked (on the inside of the belt ) How often should this be changed, and should it of been done with its bmw service ? :(

If I'm getting the name right (assuming your talking about the larger belt that runs pretty much every component in the car) then I've had mine changed at 65000 miles. It was cracked fairly bad and quite worn. The tensioner was almost to it's stop it was so worn.

milage is 89000 with FULL service history after looking and the belt it has never been changed since new , i was under the understanding that most belts have a 60000 mile life span or two years ? if this is the case i can feel a phone call the stealers putting my points forward (only had the car three months) :(
