Aux problem. Please help!

I have an aux in that I fitted myself, the one that replaces the ash tray. Looks great, and works well for about thirty minutes. Then it automatically changes over to the radio and will not let me reselect aux. same problem happens every time I use the car and after more or less the same amount of time.

Has anybody else had a similar issue?

yes I used to get that too...

are you playing audio via your phone and charging things at the same time by any chance?

I had a thread and someone commented about the solution - it escapes by now though :(

I'll have a fish around...

edit: see here :D and the threads linked in that thread...

I still have the ground loop isolator I used if interested?

as above..

this is what I used to use:

worked perfectly with my iPhone when it was charging ;)

This is of interest to me as I have just installed an aux and can forsee this happening to me.. Would a "y cable" get over this problem??

Yes, that's right, when the phone is charging. In that case, I shouldn't have the problem if I am not charging simultaneously? I will try and see if that solves the problem. If so, those Bluetooth dongles look very cool!

From my very limited knowledge and understanding, I would say that the y value wouldn't be the same... Not least cos the zed doesn't have USB... Well mine didn't ;)

As said above I still have the ground loop isolater I used sitting in the garage...

I have an iPhone 5 that I've been using with an auxiliary in cable connection to my radio for 5 months. Never had an issue with it cutting out after 30 min.... Had mine playing for hours without problem. I got mine off of eBay. However they did remark that it had to oriented a specific direction when plugged in. Perhaps that might be the problem....my connector did not have any "orientation" tabs so was marked with a white paint mark to indicate which side faced "out" so to speak.
