Aux input & buzzing sound

I opted to follow the recommendations here and purchase the aux input kit. Install was pretty simply (went in via the panel below the ac controls) and took lees than 10 minutes. It works fine, but...... when the device - be it the iPod or the SatNav - is connected to the lighter socket while recharging I get an awful humming/buzzing sound through the speakers when I try to use that device with the aux input. Anyone experience this? When I disconnect the power the buzzing goes away and the unit operates the way it should.

As always, any assistance is greatly appreciated. A minor annoyance - but an annoyance nonetheless!

Thats strange - no such problems here.

Have you tried another cable between your ipod or similar and the aux input?

Sounds like a ground problem (earth). You may wish to change the earth location.

That's exactly what it is do a search here or on roadfly been a lot said about it

bsmith_tsu is correct. You have a "ground loop". Just put a ground loop isolator on your power line and all will be better.

I had the same problem. The ground in your radio is different than the ground on the car.....

Also make sure that the power cord is well insulated and not causing noise when laying against the aluminum trim :) My cables sometimes cause this, and I am too lazy to replace them, so just shift the cables back to where they are supposed to be, after spirited :driving:

Cheers!
