Hi Everyone,

I've got a 06 3.0si Roadster. Looking to sort an Aux point so I can hook up my Iphone 5. I'vce seen lots of posts on here but can't quite get the answer I want.

Does anyone know where to buy an aux in set? I've seen one in particular that fits neatly into a cradle. I'd rather buy something then fashion something DIY and risk messing the dash up.

Any ideas much appreciated.

Sorry, I don't know about sources, and have never seen anything that fits in a cradle other than mobiles for voice communication only, not music. There's generally two ways to get music, an adapter that connects to the CD wiring, accessed from the boot, and the AUX in cables that connect behind the head unit. There is little risk of any damage to the dash in doing so. Unless you have some foolish accident. The only hard part is figuring out how the centre vent release clips work. The rest is a doddle.

Thanks. Where do you put the AUX in port thought?
 
I am researching options for music and came across this one which interests me, particularly as you can play video from it.
If you have the tv option you can plug into the av channel and use ipods. this will give you album art as well as sound - but sound only in mono. not sure if it works with iphones you would have to check that. also you would have to extend wires into the cabin and fashion a charging point.

Aux In goes on the C plug. If you already have wires connected there, you'll need to consolidate all the wires into one plug. Aux In goes on pins 3, 4, 10. No other device on the C plug uses these pins so Aux In is compatible with any other options like nav and bluetooth and CD changer.
 
Had an audio guy out today to fit the wire to the radio. Only to find that it doesn't have an aux mode setting on the radio.

Does anyone know how to deal with this?

He's offered me a connector fitted for £120 which tricks the radio into thinking the aux channel is the CD multistacker. Is this worth doing?

If you get the correct cable (it has a resistor) the "AUX" option should then appear on the Head unit, I had this problem at first...no "AUX" then I was sent a different cable and it worked, the cable was only about 25.00, can't remember where I got mine but bavarian autosport do them.
