Aux Bluetooth help needed

Hi all,

I know this will have been discussed a million times but I am having issues finding a solution looking through previous threads...

I have had the cigarette lighter adapter but the reception is mildly average at best, so I am looking at the aux connectors which seem to be a lot better. Where I am finding the issue is that most of the devices on the market, don't look as if they will fit due to their size of them. What are people using?

This is the one that I am looking at: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B086VZQG55?tag=track-ect-uk-181003-21&linkCode=osi&th=1&psc=1&ascsubtag=ecSEP19bzj8jlj49hqt5

Thanks in advance,
Russ

I just ordered this https://www.pelicanparts.com/More_Info/82110149390.htm?pn=82-11-0-149-390-BOE&bc=c&SVSVSI=0517
because I had already ordered this https://www.soundbot.com/products/soundbot-sb360-bluetooth-car-kit .
Im hoping the sound is up to par but Ill just have to wait and see . I had looked around like you for other options , not to many out there since I was wanting to keep the factory radio . Good luck.

Have a look at the Bluemusic adapter. OEM like bluetooth option that i would recommend. Search for "bluemusic"in the forum search and theres plenty of info about it

I have tried literally everything, spent a fortune. Bought this recently. Best thing I’ve tried by a country mile.

I would second this, installation can be a slight pain but if I can do it, anyone can! The best thing is, once it's done, you'd never know by looking in the cabin. Also, never had any kind of connection issue.

Same here, installed it on my old E86, streamed music and handsfree calls. Invisible, cheap, retains OEM look andtakes about half an hour to install.

I’m assuming there’s an installation guid with it? I’m fairly competent with most things but electronics are my nemesis 🙈

Sorry to dig this up again, but I have just removed the old jammed CD multi-changer and am looking to put in a bluetooth thingummy.
Initially I thought to connect it at the multi-changer connections but then looked at the options that plug in behind the head unit and also have a mic.
My question is, with the multi-changer removed, my head unit only cycles between its own CD and the radio. No aux.
I understand that if I connect in the storage box to the old CD changer loom then I can run it through that, but if I use the one with the mic from the head unit, what does it operate from?
Everyone seems to say 'Aux' but I don't have that option?

As I understand once the head unit detects an aux input it will magically appear as an option? Without anything plugged in as an aux input, it just bypasses it. Don’t take it as gospel, but I’m sure that’s what I’ve read somewhere

I’ve got a GROM bluetooth unit, which plugs into the CD changer input and also splices behind the stereo. Comes with a microphone and in 2 years of use I’ve had no issues with it. Expensive but very good.

As above aux appears in the menu when you connect an aux cable.
Thanks chaps.
So if I get the one with a mic and fit it in line behind the head unit I then just select aux, pair the phone and away we go?

I had to be different to everyone and I use an Alexa Auto for my music and telephone call needs. So I did nothing with a mic as its all built into the Alexa.

I bought an Aux cable from fruity cables on ebay and also needed a ground loop Isolator. Both bits are around £10 each.
