Aux audio options - is it standard?

Hi all, I haven't been on here for a few years (since I sold my Z4 E85), but I'm considering changing my S-line Audi A1 for a 2009 Z4. The car just has the standard stereo which is fine but does it have an aux input as standard? If it isn't is it just a case of plugging a lead into the back of the stereo? Still unsure whether to swap but starting to lean towards the Z4....

It's not standard, but it is a simple retrofit. Having done it though, I wouldn't bother and would go for an iPod kit of some kind as I did after I realised how bloody dangerous fiddling with iPods etc is when driving

Thanks for the reply. So is it just a case of plugging a lead in the back? Is the iPod kit about £130?

The e89 had an aux in as standard, its in the arm rest and from MY2012 has both USB and Aux in. Good luck with the search and welcome back

PS, if you like music at all, find a car with the upgraded stereo

Thanks SARS. Cool so it does have aux. I'm a bit spoilt in my A1 you see, Bluetooth audio, phone - good interface.

Stuart is 60 plus, you need to take that into account :poke:

But he's on point most of the time....just don't catch him after 9pm, that's when the cider kicks in!!

Sorry mate, didn't realise you weren't telling anyone about your cider addiction. I'm amazed you manage to roll your Old Holborn when you're drunk.....

Stuart is 60 and addicted to cider, blow me down with a feather......get help, well with the addiction obviously the age bit is just something you have to live with :D

After three bottles of Sauvignon Blanc it's ok to move to cider, at that point you can't tell the difference :)

In the South West, it's only cider if it stands the inversion test. I tried it once and woke up somewhere else with missing memories.
