Doesn't matter what the cost of road tax is here today. It's only a matter of time.

Bunch of theives here as well.

Stupid as this sounds, I only bought the DCT and 35i because it had the new shifter!

not that stupid as i really liked the look of the newer shifter and that was one of the things that prevented me from buying a used, older, e89 z4 auto

the newer shifter looks super cool

I prefer the old shifter on mine as its a better match with the brushed aluminium trim - see my interior pic on the polished tailpipes thread!

Cant agree with that, the new one looks more starship enterprise!!!!

i wonder if the new style shifter is retrofittable onto the old style 6 speed auto shifter?
my new 120d auto has the old style 6 speed shifter :(

I drive mine by telepathy, so dont even need paddles!

(I wanted them on my replacement car, but the dealer wouldn't play ball!).

the 20i auto costs £170 a year for road tax

the 28i is £170 road tax as well, same 2 litre engine as the 20i but mapped differently to give higher BHP and performance but (strangely) same quoted emissions and fuel consumption.

yeah bmw seem to do that with a lot of their engines where they are tuned a tad different, yet give the same or better economy for the more powerful variations
