Automatic Sunglasses Dispenser

I left work today for the first time in ages whilst the sun was shining (due to winter and working late most days). As I pull out of work the sunglasses holder helpfully pops open and deposits my sunglasses on my lap.
I didn't even know this was an option on the E86, or that mine has it installed. I assume this works via some kind of connection with the light level sensor. Any way of switching it off in Carly ?

I also found out today that the reason the car is cold on cold days, warm and muggy the rest off the time is that I had switched the ventilation system off ! Doh !

It's actually standard on the E86 OP!

But AFAIK the catch isn't linked into the light sensors for the auto. headlights - yours probably decided to open due to a dodgy catch and maybe hitting a bump in the road.

Still it is a handy feature given how little oddment storage there is. My E46 has the same holder but just above the ashtray, so the sunglasses tend to fall into the footwell.

Hehe, code it out..
Theres lots of things i wish i could code out of my zed with carly, predominantly the annoying squeak from the roof frame when its down.

That is why you need an E86! No need to try to code out "the annoying squeak from the roof frame when its down" because it won't be down - but will never squeak!

You know it makes sense.

There is a big pothole just as I pull out of work. I know it is there so try to avoid it, but seem to hit it everytime anyway !

My E46 doesn't have any sunglasses holder. They just live in the door pocket. Which doesn't work on the E86 where the door pockets are just about big enough to fit in a single condom packet...

My E86 does have a squeak from the roof somewhere. Worst of both worlds somehow :|

No it doesn't (there may be squeaky E85 owners reading this).

You're absolutely right. The strange clonking noise from behind the passenger seat has been distracting me and make me think there is a squeaking noise.
Tomorrow I get Carly on the job and try and code out 'Auto Dispense' and 'Comfort Clonking' options

I love these unknown options on the e86! My wing mirrors were equipped with a 'chassis inspection' option. Periodically the car would automatically eject the wing mirror glass to the floor so you could easily view under the car!

Didn't think there was. It thought it was weird that a convertible seems to have nowhere decently accessible for sun glasses - mine get awkwardly stuck in the door pocket.
