Automatic paddle shift after fit

I read in the forum official Z4 FAQ that it is possible to fit paddle shift to the steering wheel on automatic transmission
Has any one ever done this?
What is the cost?
Are parts readily available?
Is it a DIY job?
I would be grateful for any info
