Autologic roof open & close functioning a bit temperamental

Hi all,

i recently had my roof done with the autologic software by a bmw indy, and i love the fact that i can now do the roof on the key, however im finding it a little bit temperamental sometimes it will go first time, other times it will unlock but not do the roof, and sometimes itl just do the windows, i doubt that it has anything to do with the software as its a simple on off, but maybe its something im not doing correctly? im holding the key button down and waiting, but is there somewhere in particular i should be pointing the key etc? just wondered if anybody had had similar problems or had any tips.

Cheers

I find the same :?

I find it is more reliable if you stand still about 2-3 feet from the front wings...

The receiver thingy I believe is behind the rear view mirror?

What in particular is the problem?

Mine is tempermental if I perhaps have the windows half down already. So I maybe have to close them from the key first. Other than that, its just a case of knowing exactly what's going to go up or come down with each press.

I.e. To close the roof, I have to lock the car, then hold button for roof up and then release. Then hold again for windows up.

Keep practising :)

I find that if I move away mid operation it stops - not so cool
Stupidly embarassing if you slip your finger off the key when the roof is opening, as mine wont finish unless I get back into the car, turn the ignition and then close the roof from the console

I've done it twice, and now hold the key for dear life whenever I do it :P

Its something to do with the sensor and you needing direct line of sight with the rear view mirror i think. I find it way to slow though i sometimes lower my window to get out the car n the garage then have to stand there for 10 seconds plus waiting for the window to close.

Mine seems to work perfectly 2 out of 3 times. Not sure if it is a line of sight issue as I can open my car "through" the garage door.

Where it's stopped working, going down, I have found pushing the lock and then unlock buttons allows me to resume.
