Autodoc feedback

Hiya, so I’m looking at a few bits and pieces for the zed and came across autodoc they seem reasonable on price for a few things and they use respected brands but has anyone used autodoc? I’m on the fence as my coupe is up on the miles but it went through mot yesterday with an advisory on suspension arm pin or bush but not excessive etc so got me thinking about either selling it and upgrading to a lower miles zed or spend a bit on the devil I know plus I like the old girl so any feedback on autodoc appreciated

Cheers

Used a few times. The last time was very frustrating as postage took an age and then kept saying they’d sent it. All legit though so don’t worry there.

Very good company..provide decent products at good prices…not always the cheapest but no illegal copies..the app version is always cheaper than the web page..delivery times are very variable..sometimes things come in 2 or 3 days..sometimes 7-10 days..

Be careful to make sure you’ve got exactly the correct part..they’ll list versions for many markets..easy to get caught out on brakes and engine parts..cross check against realoem..

I’ve bought dozens of parts from them over 7 years..two were bad..some duff hella ignition coils and a duff valeo sensor..both replaced with no issue..

Their own brand products under the Ridex name seem pretty good for the price..

So that’s a yes!

I have spent thousands with them over the last 3 years or so, both for my own cars and other members who I've done work for.
They seem to have sorted their delivery times now and I expect most stuff to arrive in 7-10 days.
I have heard that they occasionally substitute a different brand of item, but never had that happen to me personally.
They also have a UK 'office' which basically provides a loophole to avoid having to pay import taxes.

Be aware that most of the time you get better discounts on the app than you do on the website for some reason.
Unless you are in a rush it is a good idea to select the parts you want, pop them in your basket then monitor the discounts and hit buy when the figure drops.

I don’t use anyone else

I buy knowing that I can’t return parts easily (I end up using them somewhere…)

The only issue I’ve had of note is the cheaper parts like ridex don’t last that long- 5k miles on drop links and a year on top mounts

Hi, I'm a recent Z4 owner and hadn't heard of Autodoc before the forum. Good experience so far.....if you are not in a rush. 7 to 10 days delivery is normal. High minimum spend for free postage. The £3.99 safe order offer is worth it. Had to return some break discs, didn't cost me a thing (other than the £3.99). Parcelforce would have charged £25 to return them to Germany. Products are exactly as described. Go for it, if you can wait!

Looks positive cheers lads
Also worth finding someone who already has the app. Get them to send you an 'invite' and you both get a tenner off your next order.

You volunteering? :poke:

I used many years ago but wasn't happy that delivery took an age so stopped. Just ordered a couple of bits and they were here within a week, genuine and at the lowest price I could find.

It does ask for the model of car on the app I didn’t realise there was a 258hp and 265hp coupe thought they were all 265
God knows which mine is

When you buy suspension stuff read it carefully as there are standard, Sports and extra options types on some parts,.

Autodoc is useful to find alternative part numbers but I dont use any more. The delivery is expensive and takes too long.
For small orders I just have a few reputable eBay sellers who are price comparible or hit my local autofactors for a couple of quid more.

Ditto. Autodoc (or online car parts, same company but sometimes different prices) are my 'go to' place for anything car related.

They seem to have got a LOT better with their delivery times aswell. Returns are easy and simple IME (although there are many reviews stating they are terrible for these).

Autodoc is good for me. I also use Opie oils for parts based on Cornwall with very quick delivery. I rate them very highly with a good range of parts.
