AUTOBRITE REAPER DRYING TOWEL, CITRUS GEN CLEANER (update)

Following on from my previous post re autobrite products, as advised by you guys ive stopped using the squeegee and leather , so i decided to by some more stuff from Autobrite in Stoke , i was planning to buy the fluffy deluxe drying mat ,but they were out of Stock so ended up buying the Reaper drying cloth, more money though  , then i decided to buy the citrus gen purpose cleaner , and an app bottle .same as before why have i purchased this any way here we go.

used Karcher K4 to rinse off , applied Autobrite std snow foam everywhere, body ,arches ,cill undersides 12 min dwell , used timer OCD ,rinse off, applied citrus cleaner diluted 7- 1 with water and applied useng a spray bottle ,sprayed throughout wheel arches, shocks /springs all susp componants under cills ,under rear end , exh back box everywhere, agitated with brush , thoroughly rinsed off with press washer , amazingf result componants were noticably cleaner , THIS PRODUCT WORKS ,

Then using AG shampoo washed wheels first seperate cloth and bucket , then body another cloth and bucket , used pressure washer to rinse off, body, arches, u/s and sus componants, , then noticeed some grit on a panel , so decided to use spriinkler gun on shower setting to gently rinse all again and remove any unwanted bits , then used the Reaper drying towel , V V easy ,yet again it works it absorbed all the water easily no smears at all ,THIS PRODUCT WORKS , i never use a sgueggee or a leather on this car again

When dry went all over with AG SRP using new polishing cloth , then another to remove , and another to buff up , , managed to get a finish im very happy with with almost a wet look , just what i was looking for , RESULT ,looks superb,

Im still debating about waxes and sealants maybe Victorias concours wax , the car is only a couple of years old and only gets used Mon-Tues-Wed by the wife , and i only use it when its dry ,also its always garaged 99.9% of the time ,so the paint is V V Good ,i will not be using a clay bar , or DA`s ,for this reason , also i dont think i have the skill for this as i dont want to damage the paint ,

i have not started on the interior yet ,for this i have purchased AUTO FINESSE SPRITZ int detailer as it leaves a matt finish , ive used AG prods and they leave a horrible shiny finish , I will report back on this soon

so there we have it very happy with the results ive achieved so far , any Comments appreciated guys :driving:

Good write up.

I used to use AG hd wax on clayed paint but got fed up with dust sticking to it as the paint is black.

I was going to put on a semi permanent sealant like cquartz but I recently brought carpro reload.

I applied it neat first of all so the paint had a good coating. And now I use reload at 3:1 diluted at a drying aid after each wash which helps to top up the paint coating.

The beading is brilliant. It hides swirl marks really well and leaves the wet look finish. And the paintwork stays cleaner for longer. On my white van, the water that runs of the paintwork when it rains is actually dirty where it removes dirt from the paint.

And reload can be applied on glass, alloys, plastic trim and leaves a good shine on the trim.
I'll never bother with wax again, it's had its day. Sealant every time from now on.

By the way. Carpro also does a really good shampoo that foams up really well with loads of lubrication.
And doesn't leave any gloss enhancers that ruin sealants like jo public (Halfords on a Sunday morning) shampoo eg autoglym .

I'm sure you've seen it already but detailing world is a brilliant forum for people with ocd like me !!

I found it useful for reviews on products that aren't available on the high street.

I'm a big fan of carpro ( rain repellant, shampoo, sealant, dlux, auto finesse (engine bay) and autosmart products (all purpose cleaning).

Have you used a clay mit instead of a clay bar ?

So much easier.

HI rob
Yes ive seen the detailing forums, the gear these guys possess is amazing they must spend a fortune, which is fair enough if thats your poison, , one chap on here did a piece on his Zed ,and it was a credit to him , he used auto finesse prods , the views underneath were stunning , thats ok if its fun/weekend /dry use car , but as ive said elswehere my wife uses the car M-T-W .gym , lunch etc , otherwise i could easily go that way . as i did when i had my Elan 2+2 i got more pleasure gawping at it after i rebuuilt a lot of the componants than i did driving it ,

i dont need to use the clay bar / mit type approach as the paint seems V Good, also one chap stated if you use a clay bar on a car it will leave swirls ,every time so i`ll give that a miss ,for the time being ,

I tend to research what this forum or the detaiilers suggest / recommend then make a purchase ,i would rather make one purchase that works than loads that do not , but Auto Finesse does get good reviews after the interior i am considering some thing for the engiane bay , to spruce it up :D  , ill keep you informed,

I use AG SRP after claying on top of that I apply AG EGP then Vic Concours results are very good nice wet look and good reflections even on a Silver car

Bit of an update re the Reaper drying towel I purchased , it seems to be loosing its power to absorb water, I've washed it once without fabric conditioner as advised, washed Zed yesterday ,rinse off with K4 ,snow foamed ,rinsed off again,AG shampoo, rinse off again, then dry with Reaper towel , I may have to adjust my earlier impressions of this product, or is it normal for drying towels to loose there power to absorb , :headbang: any advice gratefully accepted ,
