Auto lights delay and auto wiper issue

Hi all,

This is a strange one!

I have noticed this last week that when it's dark I turn the ignition key on and there is now about a 5 second delay before the auto lights come on, before it used to be instant, but weirdly since this has started to happen the auto wipers don't seem to be working (in position 1)

Any ideas?

Electrical gremlins - always a difficult;t problem to diagnose.
Sometimes the start of electrical problems is an indication of the battery on its way out so would start with some simple checks there before any more major diagnostic work.

+1 on the battery.

There are numerous threads here on electrical issues which, in general, are traced back to an 'old' battery. First point of call.
