Auto dimming wing mirrors (retrofit)?

I just want to resurrect this thread to see if anyone had retrofitted electrochromatic door mirrors.

If so, was it necessary to install extra wiring looms, or are they there already?

For those of considering this. - I'd strongly advise sitting in a car which has them fitted. I went from a Z4 without the exterior dimming mirrors to one that did. The quality of the 'image'(reflection) is quite poor in my opinion (think ' slightly blurred').

They are a pretty poor mod I think.

Could be just me - as I suggested 'try before you buy'.

I will swap you so you can have clear vision out of your mirrors.
I will pay shipping even.

Good to know :)

I've never really found the side ones that much of a problem for glare unless you look in them and a car has full beam on or something, but in those cases the rear view one is great backup. In light of what you say I think all said and done not having them doesn't bother me too much, but as with most things I guess it's down to personal preference a bit, and the 'got to catch em all' mentality of options :D

For me it's sitting at traffic lights, range rover pulls up close behind with xenons blasting down into your bootlid.

center mirror dips, and because i leave my wind deflector in, it's pretty dim. both outside mirrors don't dim, and spray mega rangey light straight into my eyes.

sit there adjusting mirrors away, then the lights go green and i drive off trying to put the mirrors back. :headbang:
