Auto-dim side mirrors

Mine work but the drivers side dims much less than the passenger side one?
Is this normal eg for safety or do they usually dim the same?

Should dim the same - perhaps it's just the different angles you have them set at.

Weird - changing angle doesnt seem to make a difference - are they operated all from the same interior mirror or do they individually dim?

The mirrors are dimmed from a sensor housed in the rear view mirror which detects high intensity light (headlights) which triggers a small electric current to stimulate the 'electrochromatic' mirrors (a bit like sun reactive sunglasses). It may be that one of you side mirrors has become defective and is simply not responding as the other two.

Is it standard to have dimming mirrors on the 3.0i? Was blinded lastnight by a 09 plate with HID's
