Auto-close roof in rain

It should be easy enough to get around the need for the ignition to be on. The Reinhold module does it remotely and simply taps into the centre console 'lighter' socket wire for a power source. From previous investigations we know that stays live 24/7

that's positive news.. I was starting to think that the roof controls may be wired into some form of ECU and that I would need to power THAT just to get the roof to operate... the fact the Reinhold doesn't need to do this is encouraging

I dont suppose there's a set of reinhold installation instructions floating around are there?

In other news, I managed to get the light cluster off and hook up a broken meter.
Should find out how feasible using the inbuilt sensor is just as soonas the new meter arrives from screwfix

You could try and pass it off as a Veyron style air brake? Also activated when the driver in front washes their windscreen!

Presumably it can use the same override function as the standard roof operation.

lol. I'm clever enough to link this into the "key 1+" setting, meaning that if the key's in the ignition and turned to at least the first click, the circuit will deactive.
So unless you're crusing without the key at 70mph, you'll be dandy
