Hello, after my previous car had an ipod connection I decided I wanted the same on the z4.
Had a look around and as I wanted basic ipod use and nothing like bluetooth and as I only have the business CD I settled on the Audiovox Duo/Silverline. This the exactly the same as the Dice, I think Audiovox just own Dice now or something like that.
Ordered on ebay from caraudiooulet for £94 inc del. Received it today and went about fitting it.
Fortunately getting the trim apart was a breeze. I had no release cable for the centre console (maybe because it is facelift) so just had to undo the 4 plastic nuts.
I drilled a hole in the cubby hole in the centre console and feed the wire through. Battery was off when I fitted the unit and then tested before all wires were cable tied and the unit was attached using Velcro. I am using a spare first gen iphone that I had lying around doing nothing, sim card out and set into airplane mode and it seems great to use.
Fitting overall took less than an hour from start to finish. I updated the unit before I installed it and so far from a little testing that I have done I really like the way it works. All the album and artist text works on the screen and the MFSW work as well.
I can use random or playlists, or I can use artists/album/podcast and audiobooks if I want to find anything specific. So far been impressed, for the money I cannot complain.
