Audio Upgrade

Hey guys

I've been thinking of upgrading my "profesional" 6 speaker setup (head unit won't be changed) with something like this:

amp: JL Audio XD500/3v2 (it can handle high-level inputs from the OEM head unit, as far as I can tell)
subs: 2 x JL Audio 6W3v3-4 subwoofers (in the cubby holes behind the seats)
front stage: JL Audio C5-653 / HERTZ ESK163L.5 component system with crossovers

What is your oppinion abot this setup? Should I choose Hertz or JL for the front component system?

Any other suggestions are much appreciated ;)

Speak to your local car audio dealer and see if you can have a listen to both.

I'm still searching for a set of c3's that I'm impressed with the sound of.

It's a little difficult with the dealers in my area, they don't stock any high quality products, not to mention putting them up for testing, even if they stocked them...

That's why I'm asking for others' oppinions...

@hopz121...which Focals do you like?

Where are you based?

I'm going to be doing a cheap and cheerful build in my daily hopefully soon featuring some esk components.

I'm a massive fan of how Hertz's speakers sound and know there's a few other forum members running Hertz in their cars.

I'd be interested to hear how the w3's sound in the cubby. I know there was another member on here who did something similar but I didn't bother changing my pair of 8w3's in the boot.

k2's are expensive :P

i'm from Romania...otherwise, i would be glad to assist and exchange oppinions :)

I'm curious about that other member who installed JLs behind the seats...no ideea who he is?

Did anyone try to fit these subs in the cubby holes behind the seats, where the carver-subs would go?

I know there is at least one forum member out there who installed them... :tumbleweed:
