Anyone had one just been searching they look pretty good 268 BHP ticks the box. Seems a few reservations about the handling, looks well put together. May be an option ???
Any opinions welcome......

I think they're brilliant little coupes albeit a bit common out here. They're good looking, have a great interior, are pretty light, very grippy and with a tune and exhaust will give an MC a run for its money...

To add, a 3.0 or M Z4 will offer plenty of tail out action if you turn the traction and stability control off, the TT being a front-biased four wheel drive car will not. If you're the sort to occasionally hoon around like that maybe the TT wont do it for you.

As above, the haldex based quattros are more understeer than fun (IMO)

I hate them with a passion.... full time "proper" quattro or RWD for me...

For most people these are all the sports car they ever need. Quick, well built, decent interior etc but for a true petrolhead they are disappointing. Characterless 4-pot turbo engine, understeer by the bucket load, no tail-out antics. Just a bit, well, boring really.

Over the last few years both the A3 & TT Quattros have undergone heavy modification to address the understeer from what they used to be. Still no tail out antics but now need a lot more effort to get the nose out of shape

Whatever you think of them, the engine has heaps of tuning potential. A remap will see it to 300+ bhp with no risk to its internals.

This is ours & tbh at first we didn't rate it much but it was brand new & it felt tight but as its loosened up now & done 28k miles in its first year we now both love it.

In the real world it's as quick as my M3 & but with a better power delivery & it feels nimble & it's relatively light so you can throw it around, only criticism is its FWD led Quattro system so it does understeer but you get used to it & 5.2 secs to 60 isn't bad going for a 2 litre.

It's a great looking car & we get nice comments about it but I accept if you want a true drivers car them RWD is hard to beat but I think it's worth you having a go in one. :)

Thanks for the info, lots to think about. Seems a good package performance/running costs I will have to try one but it's on the list for sure..
Cheers Marky....

Love Audis build quality but the TT looks so dull against an E89, very little road presence

Tim.
I am not sure you can call the TT dull Tim? It might not be great at many things in many eyes but I certainly think it looks the business & performance per pound for a second hand model it certainly takes some beating & I am a big fan of the E89 too but the TTS doesn't struggle to turn heads but nobody ever looks twice at my M3 that is the epitome of dullness.

Very nice and on my list to consider when I change. The tuning potential is excellent.

Just soooo many TT's on the road and they all look the same.

Even released an amplified (JDM has one) edition 2.0 FWD that looks like the TTRS.

I guess depends what you mean by dull, its probably good to drive, I love Audi interiors along with the latest VW but the TTs looks are simply bland to me, there's nothing in the design that hits me and makes me want to own it, reason why I went with the E89 which looks gorgeous in comparison. Having said that I may favour build quality over looks in future :)

Looks are always subjective Tim I agree & I am a massive fan of the E89 but I may be wrong but I would imagine most buy a TT on looks alone, I have always thought that is the TT's best attribute. :)

I agree with Lee, the TTS was a genuine option for me, although the ///MC won the battle.

The TT is a great looking car and the TTS styling reallys adds to that imo.

I'd agree with the above - I think - for out and out driving fun it'll have to be the MC. I traded in a 2012 S4 for mine as I found the quatro drive made the experience very, well dull. Don't get me wrong the car was very quick and more than capable when pushed, but it was just never any fun.

I would certainly go with the M Coupe over the TTS for driver appeal without a shadow of a doubt  the M is the real deal & a gorgeous looking motor imo, but most love the look of the TT & the looks really appealed to my mrs & it was just a bonus that it had decent performance aswell. :)
