I've seen this before but I just had to look again. It's unbelievable, it must have sounded like a tractor. I reckon it's one of those people who are like "I don't need a service as I have a yearly MOT"
:headbang:

There's a LOT to be said for regular oil changes and not driving too hard / redlining.

Benny, my dearly departed E36 323i coupe managed 270,000 miles before he was sideswiped and written off.
He was pulling as strongly as he did when released from the factory as was clarified by a compression test a month before he got smacked into. The indie bmw tech advised that all cylinders bar one was within acceptable factory-release tolerances and the one that wasnt was only very slightly outside the margins.
He said it wasnt surprising to see in engines that had clearly been looked after.
I do miss Benny.
Snif.

It would have been good to know the story behind it.
Was the engine still running or did it give up?
Was anything poured into the engine to turn the oil into that treacly mess?
It looks slightly like what a few years worth of chain lube round a front sprocket on a bike is like thats never been cleaned.
