I know there have been a few threads along these lines recently, I'm conscious that my Zed is not getting younger and having made the decision to keep her until she returns to her component elements or the end of the world which I'm hoping will last beyond December.
Anyway looking to spend around 5K for something comfortable and more than capable of hacking the length and breadth of the country without fuss and that I'm not fussed about leaving in airport carparks etc (not that I have nightmares when I have to leave the zed in such places either). I had a 4 wheel drive Peugeot Mi16 years ago and have always had a hankering for another 4 wheel drive car and as Audi & Subaru are the only ones to make them in numbers these days my choices are pretty limited, so I have come down on the side of the Audi.
Does anyone have experience of one, what are the pifalls and is there anything out of the ordinary I should look for.
I havn't made the decision on fuel yet but looking for something reasonably efficient so maybe one of the smaller Turbo engines.
Part of me is even thinking along the lines of the A4 convertible but my head keeps saying 4 door saloon, I might consider an E46 but not convertible don't know why I just find them just a little bit effeminate.
