When I bought my z on the 1/8/18 I noticed the arm rest catch was broke and in it’s place was a botch job sticky Velcro system. I asked the dealership to rectify and they ordered the part. I dropped the car off yesterday morning and picked it up that afternoon.. had a brand new complete armrest, it seems that the catch isn’t replaceable on its own and the whole armrest requires replacement. Is this just bmw making it hard for us to maintain older cars?

No, they're making it easy to maintain, just more expensive :evil:
I wanted to buy the little clip-out ash tray that sits under the lhinged lid at the front of the centre console, but it's not available without purchasing the complete housing it clips into. :x
