are we canvas or vinyl

Fabric (canvas)... presume you are looking for soft top cleaner? :D

To my knowledge, there is not one BMW with a vinyl top. Have you ever seen them? :sick: . They feel and look like feed sacks.
 
The standard top for the Z4 is a vinyl, manual top. Most Zeds are sold with the Premium package which includes the canvas power top.
 
Canvas which is more durable than the plastic tops, i just sealed/waterproofed mine with "Ragtopp" now the whole car beads up when wet :thumbsup:
 
zed: I thought BMW didn't make vinyl...I did an internet search and called BMW of Macon and as far as I could research, they've always used and continue to use canvas. Maybe you could find an aftermarket one that might fit the Z's made of vinyl? Although I don't know why anyone would want to.
 
My understanding is that BMW has always been cloth/canvas. No vinyl. In addition BMW believes only in folding soft tops, not folding hard tops. Their 10 commandments of what makes a true "roadster" discusses this. Zink

Nope. The standard manual top for the Z4 is also canvas. :)
 
Well, I'll be.....I stand corrected. I got this information from my dealer when I was buying my car.......I guess that's no surprise eh? :)

The new 3 series coup-cabriolet has a folding hardtop. Not a roadster, sure, but they do appear to be bending to current trends.

I've used the BMW branded products and they worked well. Picked them up from my dealer - were not expensive. I used the shampoo and the impregnating agent.
