are there lifted trucks in Europe/UK?

Was having a drive with a few friends the other night and a friend of a friend came to meet us in his lifted truck. It got me thinking.. is this purely an american thing? I never see videos/pictures of these type of vehicles with non american plates. :? I believe I have seen a few posts on here about some people in the more country areas of the UK "mudding"? Or I could be wrong?

Don't know about the UK, but wouldn't be street legal here. Wheels stick out wider than the fenders, and too much windscreen is obscured by stickers (both safety fails). Also, the good taste police would impound and crush it. :poke: :P
 
I think there are fans of such things - I have seen posters for monster truck shows at show grounds, but never on the public road.
 
Never seen one on the road here. Your car looks like a child's toy next to it :lol:

I'm not sure I could even get into that thing :oops:
 
My Jeep wrangler has a 2 inch lift with 5 inch larger diameter tyres, putting it 4 1/2 inches higher than stock.
Gets through MOT's no worries
Not quite as radical as what you are talking about though :D

My Jeeps are both well lifted, but for effective off road use and competition, not style.

TJ is about 5" overall with short arm conversion and the CJ with a spring over axle around 6"

Really don't like the big US on road trucks just jacked up.

Cheers - currently rebuilding the drivetrain on the TJ. A decade of fairly serious off roading has taken a heavy toll on the water prone parts of the drivetrain (Wheel hubs, brakes, UJ's in props, starter motor, diffs, etc.)

Water, mud and steel components are not happy companions

Not a huge fan of the monster truck though. :P It's too big to make any sense on the road.

If you have to have something that huge, for the road, get a proper truck.

Yep, over here we call these truck that are for show, "pavement queens" because they are raised like off road vehicles for "mudding" and light bars all over the place and tow mirrors out yet are purely for show..
I guess pavement queens are the truck scenes version of a "ricer/boy racer" :lol:
